He doesn't always stand still, but he likes being out in the open. Originally from Ireland, he came to me via Greyhound Rescue West of England.

As promised, here's an update on Rocky (see below) - He's been rehomed up in Scotland, and we're glad to tell you he's doing really well. As you can see, he's put on lots of weight!

"Rocky", his owners, and Ark Vets would like to say a big thank you to the following Charities; The Blue Cross, The Dogs Trust, Dogue De Bordeaux Rescue and the RSPCA, for their financial help towards Rockys emergency treatment at the beginning of October. After responding to an advert for a Dogue de Bordeaux free to good home, Rocky's owners realised within a few hours that they had taken on more than they had bargained for - a very sick dog indeed.
Not wanting to take the dog back to the previous owners (who must have known the dog was severely unwell when they gave him away), Rockys owners faced the tough decision that faced with vet bills they could not afford they may have to put their new dog to sleep. (Having only had the dog a few hours they had not got round to setting up any pet insurance). We at Ark Vets then faced a race against time to raise funds for Rockys treatment which we knew would exceed £500 easily.
Lucky for Rocky, several charities made generous donations to assist his new owners in paying for his operation and I'm pleased to say he is on the mend and doing well. The photo of Rocky was taken on the day of his operation. He has now put some weight on so we'll keep you updated on his progress.

Many of you who have visited Ark Vets will know that I have several horses. Well, here is one of them. This is Oaklyvaile Gentleman in Suede(or just Suede for short). He is a 14 year old Welsh Cob X Arab and is the 2008 National Welsh Part-bred Horse Champion in hand and under saddle. He is a bit of a cheeky chap at times, with one of his more recent pranks being some hoof prints he left in wet concrete at the yard he was being kept at. It was obviously his way of saying "Suede woz ere". Anyway, he is my pride and joy and excels at everything... including swimming!
